Convert your Anycall Galaxy S2 phone to GT-I9100

Convert your Anycall galaxy S2 to International GT-I9100

(For SHW-M250s/SHW-M250K/SHW-M250L)

1. Before doing anything please backup your data, sms, contact, bookmarks etc. I prefer Superbackup which is a free app available in play store. Please download it here. Once you backup everything please make sure the backup files are in external SD card or you have moved it to computer.

2. Download Kies here, and install. After completing installation, exit kies. (Make sure KIES is not running while the converting process is being perfomed)

3. Download the international Jellybean (4.1.2) firmware for Anycall Galaxy S2 from here

4. Download ODIN which is the most popular flashing tool for Samsung smart phones here.

5. Download PIT file (configuration file for repartitioning) from here.

Step by step Guide

Important: Please make sure your phones battery is charged at least 80%

1. Turn off your phone (wait for the vibration at the end). Boot your phone into download mode [Press volume Down+Home key+Power button] , connect the phone to PC using the USB cable and press volume up key.

2. Open Odin 1.85 as the administrator. If the phone is detected by the software ID:COM field must be highlighted with yellow color. If it is not detected download the USB drivers for Samsung phone here and install it.

3. Then Click on PIT button and browse the downloaded pit file.

 4. Now click the PDA , browse and select the downloaded jellybean firmware.

4. Make sure Repartition, auto reboot & f.reset time (Optional)  are checked.

5. Click the start button to flashing the firmware.

6. It will take approximately 5 minutes for the flashing and phone will be reboot automatically.

Now you have successfully converted your anycall galaxy S2 phone to international GT-I9100. But most users experienced a power key bug at this point (long pressing power key wont bring the power options, instead it power off the device). Please follow the below steps to solve this issue.

Step 01

  • Download the update.zip file here.
Then,
  • Put the downloaded update.zip file on root of your external SD card
  • Boot into stock recovery (volume up key + home button + power key). Wait for GT-I9100 Galaxy S2 logo flashes two times.
  • Now you will enter the stock recovery.
  • Select "apply update from external storage".
  • Now select the update.zip file you copied in previous step
  • Now reboot the phone
This will root your phone which helps to gain the administrator access of your android device.

STEP 2
  • Download Root Explorer here and install the program. Password is galaxys2sl
1. Using Root Explorer navigate to the following folder;  /efs/imei
2. Press left soft key > Create a new file as "keystr"
3. After creating the file, press and hold it & Open it in text editor and write "ON"
4. Set permissions to rwx rwx rwx (to set, press & hold the keystr file & select permissions and set all to rw)
5. Reboot (Optional)
6. Enjoy your International Samsung galaxy S2.

You can install any custom rom designed for GT-I9100 without any error. But, make sure you are using CWM based recovery for flashing the ROM. I will post a guide how to install custom ROMs soon.
